Australia's Top Social Networking Apps on iOS in Q1 2021

In the first quarter of 2021, several social networking apps have shown varied trends in user engagement and financial performance on the iOS platform in Australia. Sensor Tower provides detailed insights into these trends.

BIGO LIVE-Live Stream, Go Live saw its revenue fluctuate, starting at $105K in late December and peaking at $112K in late January before dropping to around $89K in late March. Meanwhile, downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from 2.7K to 3.5K per week, and weekly active users increased slightly from around 19K to 20K.

The Plenty of Fish Dating App experienced a decrease in revenue from $69K at the end of December to around $43K by late March. Downloads for the app hovered between 2.7K and 3.4K, while weekly active users saw a dip from 31K to around 27K at the end of the quarter.

Zoosk - Social Dating App showed a decline in revenue, starting at close to $50K and falling to $37K by the end of March. The app's downloads ranged from 1.2K to 1.5K, and active users saw a slight decrease from 5.7K to 5.4K.

Facebook, a dominant player in the social networking category, showed a downward trend in revenue from $46K to $33K. Downloads saw significant fluctuation, with a peak of 36.8K in early February and a low of 23.8K in late March. Notably, weekly active users remained impressively high, with numbers consistently above 14M throughout the quarter.

Lastly, Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat experienced a modest range in revenue, from $27K to $33K. Download numbers stayed within the 1.3K to 1.7K range, and active users showed an overall increase from 15K to over 15.3K.
